Overview

Odíhg Y̼inlijwi̊sh was founded durring the late 15th century in spring of the year 1392, by Cúchīy Cúńnvó̄ 'Moon Buff' Cóónḱ Goīsh Joú̄b Āko. The establishment of Odíhg Y̼inlijwi̊sh was plagued by a lack of willing colonists. After attempts to pay people to resettle failed Cúchīy Cúńnvó̄ 'Moon Buff' Cóónḱ Goīsh Joú̄b Āko struck deals with nearby nations and communities to establish Odíhg Y̼inlijwi̊sh as a prison colony.

Odíhg Y̼inlijwi̊sh was built using the conventions of Tauric durring the late 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Odíhg Y̼inlijwi̊sh is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Odíhg Y̼inlijwi̊sh is buildings are located arround a single narrow packed earth mainstreet which forms a clockwise spiral to give the town a over all circular shape. The town has a fortified albit thin brick wall. The wall has most of the feeatures of a typical castle wall, just on a much smaller scale and and budget. Notably brick isn't a particuarly soild choice for resisting siege weapons. Odíhg Y̼inlijwi̊sh's wall wouldn't hinder a proper army, but it is more than sufishent for bandits and other small marauding groups. The town's monster and outlaw focused fortifications have recently undergone extensive repairs and renovations, such that the repairwork is imeadiently apparent and can be spotted due to the diffring ages of materials. One can't help but wonder what brought the need for those repairs to the town.

A look around Odíhg Y̼inlijwi̊sh shows Odíhg Y̼inlijwi̊sh is little more than a wretched hive of scum and villainy. Birbes can be seen changing hands openly, such that it must be customary to do so and must have been for a long time. The locals have no fear, no annoyance at the state of things, it simply is.

Cultural Notes

Odíhg Y̼inlijwi̊sh's town hall was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used embraces individualism and experimentation. It emerged as a movement against traditional, classical styles and sought to make buildings dynamic and fun while breaking the rules. The style incorporated elements of previous architectural styles in exaggerated and whimsical ways. Traditional, conservative leanings were void in this era, with most scholars of architecture agreeing it was a time of “anything goes.”.

Points of Interest

Odíhg Y̼inlijwi̊sh has access to some sort of functioning ancient infrastructure, whether it's an array of wall-mounted arcane energy projectors, running water, moving roadways, community-wide climate control, or some other inherited luxury. This infrastructure may be the result of a still-functional Working, or it could be the product of some venerable occult engine that's still operational, or it may be the fruit of the labors of some specially-designed organism or Blighted populace.

The roads leading into Odíhg Y̼inlijwi̊sh possess a great number of switchbacks. While designed for defense, they mostly wind up pissing everyone trying to take goods to town right the hell off.

The conflict ended after roughly 77, when members of Odíhg Y̼inlijwi̊sh's militia enacted an operation to break a siege of a particular ruin. The operation was complicated by a key segment of the operation that deepened entirely on a stealth mission going perfectly. The conflict ended with pitched battle between both forces, which ended in a crushing defeat for Odíhg Y̼inlijwi̊sh's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Odíhg Y̼inlijwi̊sh's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
